The Racer's Group Porsche GT3 RS #81, sponsored by mail2web.com, wins at the Le Mans GT class in France France --- June 16, 2002 mail2web.com is proud to announce that car No. 81 won at the 70th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France. The Racers Group finished 16th overall, leading with a little less than a minute over the next closest car. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS was piloted by team owner and driver Kevin Buckler of Sonoma, Calif. and German duo Lucas Luhr and Timo Bernhard. The Racers Group battled with the second place team, Freisinger Motorsport, for the first 16 of the 24 hours of the world famous endurance race. The Freisinger Porsche needed a front brake disk and rotor change in the 17th hour, which gave The Racers Group the lead for the first time since the first hour of the race and they held that lead through the final lap. In the last exciting minutes, the war raged on between the #80 Porsche (Freisinger Motorsport) and the #81 Porsche (Racers Group). The lap gap between Kevin Buckler's #81 and Romain Dumas' #80 Porsches, the two strong racers in the GT category, is 2 minutes and 40 seconds. mail2web.com congratulates Kevin Buckler, co-drivers, Lucas Luhr and Timo Bernhard and the whole team for a fantastic race.
