1st and 2nd place finish for Alex Job/mail2web.com ALMS cars at Sebring Toronto, Ontario --- March 21, 2004 mail2web.com, a premier free web-based email application, and brand of global service provider SoftCom Technology Consulting Inc., announced today a 1st and 2nd place finish in the GT-class of the Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche GT3 RSR cars at the 52nd annual Twelve Hours of Sebring, the inaugural 2004 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race. The No. 23 Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche GT3 RSR driven by Jorg Bergmeister, Timo Bernhard and Sascha Maassen won the classic 12 hour race by a two-lap margin over teammates Lucas Luhr, Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas in the No. 24 car. The No. 23 car had started the race in 1st position after winning the pole on Thursday, but experienced a considerable amount of pressure from teammates in the No. 24 car, which staged a tremendous comeback after starting at the back of the grid due to a technical violation from their qualifying session. The two Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche GT3 RSR cars led the race the majority of the time throughout the 12 hours. With this win, Maassen has tied Luhr's four class wins in a row record at Sebring. The record of five wins in a row is held by Bob Holbert. The next race on the 2004 ALMS scheduled is June 27, 2004 at Mid-Ohio. mail2web.com is a free web-based email application that is exclusively hosted on the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 platform.
