1st and 3rd place finish at Sonoma for Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche Toronto, Ontario --- July 16, 2004 mail2web.com, a free world leading web-based email application, and brand of global service provider SoftCom Technology Consulting Inc., announced today a 1st and 3rd place finish in the GT-class at the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race this past weekend at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. The No. 23 Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche 911 GT3 RSR driven by Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister finished in 1st place, while teammates Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas in the No. 24 car finished in 3rd place, four seconds from 2nd place. Bernhard started the race behind teammate Dumas, but in lap 18 took over the lead until a yellow flag in lap 22 convinced the team to complete a full pit stop. When both cars returned to the track, they were down additional time when another team avoided the pit stop, but did violate a known rule when he drove through the pit area, but failed to pit the car. Following the conclusion of the race, the other team was assessed a 42-second penalty causing the No. 23 to finish 1st in class. With this win, the Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche team is clearly back on track to a strong showing for the remainder of the season, and in sight of another season championship.
