Top finish for Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche at Laguna Seca

Toronto, Ontario --- October 18, 2004

mail2web.com, a free world leading web-based email application, and brand of global service provider SoftCom Technology Consulting Inc., announced today a perfect 1st and 2nd place finish in the GT-class of the last American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race of the 2004 season that took place this past weekend at Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. The No. 24 Alex Job/mail2web.com Porsche 911 GT3 RSR driven by Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb finished in first place, while the No. 23 car driven by Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister finished a close second, winning Bernhard the series driver's championship. This is the Alex Job/mail2web.com's 7th consecutive 1st place finish this season

From the start Bernhard quickly asserted himself by setting the fastest race lap and leading most of the race with a comfortable lead over teammates Dumas and Lieb in the No. 24 car. Both cars continued to run trouble free for the remainder of the race, putting a full lap between them and the third place GT car about two hours into the four hour race.

The weather continued to stay dry until the last 20 minutes of the race when suddenly a torrential rain fall caused all drivers to pit for a tire change. Fortunuately, Bernhard was near pit lane when the rain began and was able to change tires immediately enabling him to hold on for a 2nd place finish behind teammates in the No. 24 car who entered pit lane under a yellow flag.

With this 2nd place finish for Bernhard comes the 2004 ALMS GT driver's title, in addition to the team trophy that was previously secured by the Alex Job/mail2web.com team at the Road Atlanta race last month

This was the last race of the 2004 ALMS season. The season begins again on March 19, 2005 for the 12 hours of Sebring at the Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, FL.
