Free Services Help Top 10 Questions 1. Can mail2web.com be used to change your password? No, mail2web.com is an email retrieval application that doesn't store passwords nor can it change passwords. Password changes can only be done by the administrator or company that originally provided your email account. 2. Email is appearing in my email client at home (Outlook, Eurdora etc.) but when I log into mail2web.com I have nothing in my inbox. Why is this happening? When you enter your email address and password into mail2web.com it attempts to log into your email server to view messages that haven't been retrieved. Most email clients, if left open and running on your PC, automatically retrieve new message and download them from your mail server. For this reason when mail2web.com tries to access your account, nothing appears as the new message has already been downloaded to your PC. 3. When I try to log into mail2web.com I keep getting the message "Login Error", why is this? There could be a few reasons. First, your password may have been entered incorrectly. Please try again. If that doesn't work and you have confirmed your password with your email provider, you may need to use the advanced login. Some email servers require more information, including the Server Name or I.P. address, before they will allow mail2web.com to access your email account. 4. How do I view email messages that I have sent? Currently this is not available through mail2web.com. Because mail2web.com is only accessing your account for the time you log in, it has no ability to keep track of the messages you have sent and make a record of them. 5. Is there a way to get rid of the advertising on mail2web.com? No, mailweb is a free service and as such we need the revenue from advertising to help pay for the operation of this service. No advertisements are sent with any emails either drafted or replied to using mail2web.com except for a signature line at the bottom of each email stating: mail2web.com - Check your email from the web at: http://mail2web.com /. 6. Can mail2web.com be used to check any email address? mail2web.com can be used to check most email addresses, however, some email servers do not allow remote access. In those cases you may get an error telling you 'login failed'. Also, services like HotmailŪ use proprietary mail protocols that are not supported by mail2web.com 7. If my email provider requires that I enter a server name each time I log in (using mail2web.com's advanced login), do I need to enter it every time? No, all you need to do is create a free custom account by clicking on the link "Customize mail2web now" on mail2web.com. This will allow us to save your server settings (not your password or any other private information) so the next time you log in to your personal home page, you will not need to enter your server settings again. 8. Can I use mail2web.com to check more than one account at a time? Yes, you can check as many accounts as you like. For your convenience you can also get a customized account with a personalized home page that will allow you to store the settings for multiple email accounts. 9. Sometimes I get the message "Incorrect User Name and Password" when I click on a message and I'm already logged in. Why? The problem may have to do with a restriction on some email servers that only allows one connection at a time. When you log into mail2web.com, the first page it displays is list page of the most recent email in your inbox. If you click on a message link to view that message - before the page has fully loaded - you may be creating a second connection which it communicates back to the mail2web.com system as a failed login attempt. To avoid this please make sure to allow the list page to completely load before viewing an individual message. 10. Does mail2web.com have any anti-spam or anti-virus filtering options? No, currently mail2web.com does not offer that feature, however it can be very useful for deleting SPAM and otherwise unwanted emails. Remember, mail2web.com is not an email client but rather an email retrieval application. Anti-spam and anti-virus filtering is something your email provider probably offers. If not, you may want to consider an email hosting package from myhosting.com - http://myhosting.com/email/
