WAP - Wireless Access Protocol

MobilityMobile Services › About WAP

The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a set of open, global protocols for developing applications and services that use wireless networks.

The WAP protocols are mainly based on already existing Internet protocols, but are optimized for mobile users with wireless devices. Those devices are connected to Network Providers (Operators) who act as a gateway to Internet. Your device (be it a phone, a PDA or a combination device) should come pre-set to connect to WAP services. All you should do is to "dial" mail2web.com's WAP address below and follow the instructions on screen.

To access the mail2web.com WAP version go to - http://mail2web.com/wap.

If you need to set up your phone for WAP access we suggest you to first contact the supplier of your device for guidance. You may also check the following links for information on setting up WAP phones:

  • www.wapfreaks.net - contains the UK operator settings
  • Nokia provides information on using MMS, WAP, and Internet/email.
  • Sony Ericsson - The Sony Ericsson WAP Configurator - Simply select your country/region, mobile network and phone model and the required WAP Service Provider configuration will be sent to your mobile phone via SMS.
